Rules and Regulations, Updated May 2020
The following rules and regulations are to be followed by all present and future water users and members of the Sierra Linda Mutual Water Company, Inc.
1 – No person or persons other than the official Water Supervisor, member of the Board of Directors, or someone specifically authorized by the Board will be allowed to turn off or on any of the main valves, any of the Water Company equipment or otherwise tamper with any of the property of the Water Company.
2 – Any person or persons within Bass Lake Annex #1 desiring water service must notify the Water Company, in writing, at the address above, not less than ten (10) days in advance of the date they wish to tap-in. No tap-in will be made to the main line by any user or prospective user. There will be a $25.00 fine for any violations. All tap-ins will be at the shut-off valve and these will be installed by the Water Supervisor.
3 – A tap-in fee to cover the cost of installation will be levied against the property owner at the time of tap-in.
4 – All pipes used for water connections to the main line at the shut-off valve will be 3/4 inch in diameter.
5 – No house coolers with water connections are to be installed or used without a pump thereon.
6 – Water service to any lot will be shut off whenever the user allows their water bill to become more than three (3) month delinquent. A fee of $80.00 will be charged for resumption of water service, in addition to the delinquent bill.
7 – Water bills, including assessments, will be sent to the property owner only.
8 – No water user is allowed to use water furnished from the Sierra Linda Mutual Water Company, Inc. distribution system, wells, or spring to fill or maintain a swimming pool. Children’s wading pools are permitted.
9 – Property owners are responsible for any broken lines or open, neglected faucets on their side of the main line. A charge of labor plus cost of supplies needed to make repairs will be made to the property owner if the Water Company has to make their repairs to stop the loss of water.
10 – At present, water rates are $71.00 per quarter for water use and $14.00 per quarter for assessment for all users with structures of their property and $14.00 per quarter assessment for property with no structure on the property. The assessment is to be used for refurbishing the wells and water lines. The assessment will be for an indefinite length of time. All bills are due and payable upon receipt. A late charge of $20.00 per month will be charged for all unpaid water bills. Bills are mailed the first of each quarter.
11 – There is no charge to turn off the water, there is, however, an $80.00 charge to turn water back on.
12 – Property owners are responsible for notifying the Water Company of changes in occupancy status of their homes and if the homes are rented the Water Company needs to be informed of the renter’s name and telephone number for use in emergency notification. Owners are also responsible for informing the renter or anyone using their home and property of the water restrictions and the water regulations. A $25.00 fine will be imposed on the property owner if rules and regulations are ignored after the second warning.
13 – No outside water use between the hours of 12:00 (noon) and 6 p.m. All hoses must have a shut-off nozzle when in use. Using potable water to wash driveways or sidewalks is prohibited. Allowing runoff when irrigating is prohibited. Irrigating outdoors within 48 hours following measurable rainfall is prohibited. Any outside water project, i.e. power washing, longer than four (4) days will require the owner to supply their own water source or get special permission from the water company Board of Directors.
